Wondering where it all
began??? Here's a brief history on
the evolution of
reillybelle
original
designs!
The very
beginning....
I began designing jewelry in
January, 2003. I
made
myself
a
triple
strand
mommy
bracelet...back when
mommy bracelets were all the rage!
People started asking me
where I
got
them,
and when I told
them that I made
them, they wanted
to buy
them...reillybelle
original designs was
born!
My business
name....
My daughter, Reilly, was
just 4 years old when I started this
endeavor. Her
favorite princess
was...and still is
Belle. She
actually
replaced
her middle name,
Margaret, with
Belle...and
proceeded
to call herself
Reilly
Belle. It was the perfect
name
for my new
business!
My original
designs....
My jewelry business has
continually evolved since day one.
I am always striving
to be innovative
and creative in my
work. I look
for
materials that
would not necessarily
be
used for
jewelry...but
with
a little bit
of imagination,
they become works of
art! I
am
very proud of
the fact
that I have
brought
several
new
designs
to boutique ebay that have
actually
become
trends for other
jewelry
designers. Don't settle
for
cheap
imitations...you
can always tell when
it's a reillybelle
;o)
The button
fringe....
I first debuted this brand
new design to boutique ebay in August of
2004. I've
always loved
buttons,
so I was
determined to figure
out how to
incorporate them into
my fringe
bracelets. My first
bracelet took
me 6
hours to complete... I
experimented,
ripped
it apart, and experimented again
and
again until I
had
perfected the art
of
wire wrapping a
button to a
chain.
Here is a picture of
my first
bracelet...taken
on a scanner
LOL!
My button fringe bracelets
have stayed true to their original
designs. In 2005, I added
the fabric
button
fringe to my collection, with the first
one
using gymboree
fabric.
In April of 2005, I added the button
fringe necklace to my
collection.
The nuts and bolts
collection....
The nuts and bolts
collection was added in the spring of
2005. I was
inspired by every
day
metal
objects. The first three
pieces were a
typewriter key necklace,
bolts necklace,
and a
metal
inspiration
button fringe for
mom.
I soon added two of my
signature boy pieces: the copper
initial necklace, and
the hard*wear*
necklace.
M2MG for
boys...
In June of 2005, I was the
first to bring boy's gymboree matches to
boutique ebay.
The bottle cap
necklace...
As part of my nuts and bolts
line, I introduced the
very
first
boutique bottle cap necklace
to ebay
August 14,
2005. Sure, surfers had been
wearing
a bottle
cap on a leather string
for
years, but I created a
new technique for
wire wrapping a
bottle cap into a
pendant.
For
3 weeks, if
you
searched boutique bottle
cap necklace on
ebay, mine were
the only ones up!
Soon,
others were
inspired by the
trend.
Very
shortly,
there
were hundreds of
boutique bottle
cap necklaces on
ebay!
Just 6
weeks after I
introduced the
design, people
were
actually selling
instructions! It
still amazes me to
this
day that my
first necklace
did!
I soon added princess bottle
caps, holiday bottle
caps,
and
photo
bottle
caps to my
collection.
In September of 2005, I
added my guitar pick necklaces for boys
and
girls.
At the same time, I also
added the dawg tagz
collection.
In October of 2005, I added
the bottle cap button fringe and bottle
cap pin to my
collection as well
as the
photo bottle cap keychain
and
photo
bottle
cap
ribbon necklace.
In November of 2005, I added
the bottle cap button
belt,
which
I have
added
a variety of
styles
since.
My whimsical design sense
really came out in December 2005 with
the Barbie shoe bottle
cap fringe and
necklace!!
Safety*caps* were introduced
in January, 2006 for
back
packs
and
clothing.
The wooden pendants were added in April
of 2006.
In June of 2006, one of my
all time biggest selling items was
introduced...the ribbon
bottle cap
necklace:
In July of 2006, I added
M2MG custom ribbon name bottle cap
necklaces as well as my boy
line of
custom
name necklaces on military
chain.
I added my mom's photo
bottle cap button belt in August of
2006:
In the fall of
2006, I added several new
designs... the lego hard*wear*
necklace
for boys,
gymbo fabric belt, and the button
fringe
watch.
On Jan 2, 2007, I added the
button choker necklace that doubles as a
headband.
On January 4th, 2007 I
debuted my original poker chip
accessories for boys, girls,
and
adults.
At the same time, I debuted
pet*caps*...stuffed animal id
tags.
I soon added the button*O to
my
collection.
A new "twist" on an old
*reillybelle* design...the sterling
silver M2MG custom ribbon
necklace with
name
insert debuted on April 10, 2007
as well
as
the
M2MG signature *reillybelle*
charm
bracelet.
On April 10, 2007 I
introduced one of my all time favorite
designs...mom's art
gallery button
fringe. This
innovative design
takes your
child's
artwork and
transforms it into a
wearable piece of
art
that will be
forever
cherished!
In May 2007, I added the
stained glass soldered initial
pendant.
In August,
2007 I added my handcrafted sterling
silver pieces in a new
line called
silver.wear.
In November,
2007 I added the sterling button
pendant...the perfect
combination of two
of my favorite design
elements.
In February,
2008 I added the wood pendant initial
necklaces in tons of
different fabric
papers:
In February,
2008 I also added a sterling line
for
boys:
In March, 2008
I also revisited
my
hard.wear
line
from 2005.
This
time, I've
personalized
washers to create an
affordable
alternative to sterling
silver.
In July, 2008, I added hand
stamped dog tags to my
line.
In August, 2008, I added
bubble.wear, which was a glass twist to
my bottle cap
design.
In September, 2008 I added
hand stamped tile
pendants.
January, 2009 brought a new
little division to
reillybelle...paperbagboutique.wear with
cute, sassy hand stamped wood
pendants.
My most recent
designs...
My designs have always
stayed true since the beginning...I
continue to add new
materials to my
classic
reillybelle creations. I
enjoy
collaborating with other designers
to
have a complete
"head to
heels"
look
;o) Here are
some examples of my
recent
work:
